Introduction and Properties
Propargite, with the trade name Amite, is a non-systemic acaricide from the sulfite family with a contact effect and long duration, and is also effective on insects through respiration. This poison affects and kills mites by inhibiting the mitochondrial synthesizing enzyme and disrupting the energy production cycle, along with contact-digestive and respiratory effects. Propargite penetrates the outer layers of the leaf to some extent after spraying and has a good persistence on the surface of the leaves.
