Trichlorfen
Brand:Diptrex
Formulation: 80% SP
Carnes period: 7 days for all products
Introduction and Properties
Trichlorfen, with the trade name Diptrex, is a non-systemic insecticide from the organophosphate family with contact and digestive effects. This insecticide kills plant pests by inhibiting the cholinesterase enzyme. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter that is secreted in the intersynaptic space and stimulates the next nerve fiber. This compound is broken down by the cholinesterase enzyme and the stimulation ends. However, if this enzyme is inhibited by Diptrex, this neurotransmitter continuously stimulates the nerves and leads to paralysis of the insect. In this state, insects are unable to move or feed and will die quickly.
