Introduction and Properties
Linuron, with the trade name Afalen, is a selective systemic herbicide from the urea family that is initially absorbed by the roots and also by the foliage, preventing the photosynthesis of the plant and can also be used in the soil. The symptoms of the effect of this herbicide on the plant are rapid chlorosis, necrosis of the leaf margins and finally drying of the leaves. This toxin is relatively stable in the soil, therefore the sensitivity of the next crop to Linuron should be examined. This herbicide is used pre- and post-emergence to control fine-leaf and broad-leaf weeds in carrots, peas and rainfed lentils.
Instructions for use
Broadleaf and narrowleaf weeds of carrot fields at a rate of 2.5 per hectare as a post-emergence treatment
Broadleaf and narrowleaf weeds of rainfed chickpea at a rate of 2 liters per hectare before planting and mixed with soil
Broadleaf and narrowleaf weeds of rainfed lentils at a rate of 1.5 liters per hectare before planting and mixed with soil
