Introduction and Properties
Etoxazole, under the trade name Barok, is a non-systemic contact acaricide that is effective on eggs, larvae, and nymphs and is ineffective on adult insects. Etoxazole causes the death of mites by disrupting the natural development of mites during the molting stage and is effective on all developmental stages of mites. Etoxazole does not kill adult mites, but female mites that have come into contact with this toxin produce infertile eggs. Etoxazole has no adverse effect on natural enemies of pests and beneficial insects.
