Introduction and Properties
Clothianidin, with the trade name Clothi, is a neonicotinoid that acts systemically and is also absorbed through the roots through translaminar activity. Translaminar activity refers to a situation in which the pesticide is absorbed on one side of the leaf surface, but at the same time the active ingredient of the pesticide penetrates to the other surface, and in this way the pesticide is transported to all parts of the plant, including leaves, stems, and roots.
