Introduction and Properties
Chlorthal dimethyl, with the trade name Ductal, is a selective, non-systemic, cell division inhibitor herbicide from the benzoic acid family that inhibits the growth of terminal buds (meristems) and is used to control annual weeds in onion, alfalfa, and clover.
Recommendation: It has a wide range of uses for weed control in onion and alfalfa fields. It is used to prevent sow thistle and other weeds in late winter before alfalfa emerges.
Instructions for use
Annual broadleaf weeds in alfalfa, clover, and onion fields at a rate of 8 to 12 kilograms per hectare before planting or after planting and before emergence and early growth of the grass.
