Introduction and Properties
Acetamiprid, with the trade name Mospilan, is a neonicotinoid insecticide that is systemic with translaminar activity, has contact and digestive effects and is used to control a wide range of pests of horticultural and agricultural crops. Acetamiprid quickly decomposes into carbon dioxide when sprayed on the soil, thereby minimizing the harmful side effects of environmental and groundwater pollution. This toxin disrupts the action of nicotinic acetylcholine nerve receptors and affects the synapse of the insect’s central nervous system.
