Introduction and Properties
Thiobencarb, brand name Saturn, is a selective herbicide from the thiocarbamate family that inhibits lipid synthesis and prevents the growth of terminal buds. This is a systemic, pre-emergent herbicide that prevents the growth of emerging weeds. After consumption, Thiobencarb is absorbed by the coleoptile, mesocactyl, roots and leaves and is distributed to all parts of the plant through xylem and phloem. This product is easily absorbed by the roots through the soil and is very rarely subject to leaching.
