Introduction and Properties
Oxyfluorfen, with the trade name Gol, is a selective contact herbicide that is mainly absorbed and acts through the leaves. It is a diphenyl ether compound that controls a wide range of broadleaf and narrowleaf weeds in onion fields by post-emergence with a long persistence in the soil. Its persistence in the soil is about 30 days, and this duration depends on the intensity of light, temperature, and soil type. For this herbicide to last longer, low light and low temperature are required. For better results, use Oxyfluorfen in the early stages of weed growth. This herbicide is absorbed mainly by the aerial parts of the plant and to some extent by the roots.
Instructions for use
Narrow-leaved and broad-leaved weeds in onion fields at a rate of 3 liters per hectare at the two to five-leaf stage of the onion or in two doses of 0.75 liters each time, 18 days apart.
