Introduction and Properties
Fipronil, with the trade name Regent, is a relatively systemic, contact, and digestive insecticide from the phenylpyrazole family, with a broad spectrum and appropriate residual pest control. This insecticide is used in rice fields as a granular spray once a year. Insects resistant to organophosphate, carbamate, pyrethroid, and cyclodine pesticides are relatively sensitive to this compound.
